National AIDS Memorial Grove

The idea for the memorial began in 1988; landscaping work began on in 1991; and the grove was designated as the nation’s AIDS memorial in 1996 thanks to (many people but including) Nancy Pelosi and Bill Clinton. A beautiful and poignant hidden gem of the park - I encourage you to seek it out (google maps will help you!)
